In May 2025, Chris secured a mortgage for our new house. He is easy to work with and very thorough. We needed to repaint our old house and Chris referred us to a superb house painter. Then in early 2026, he gave us a binder with all of the financing paperwork - this was a lifesaver when we were completing our income taxes!!!!

It is very easy for me to give Chris Opfer a five star rating for his help in getting me qualified for a house loan. After being non-impressed with one lender's overall attitude towards me and not sounding like she really wanted to work with me, and then, another one being totally unresponsive, I was getting very discouraged. Luckily, a friend of mine referred me to Chris, and the first thing he did when I called, was to set an in-person appointment with me for the next day at my apartment. There was a big sense of relief and hope that it was going to work with this guy. He also thanked me for my military service (VA loan). The whole process took just over a month. Not to say that it was glitch-free, but what ever came up, was resolved.During the process,Chris was always upbeat and encouraging.He's just an all around nice guy.He walks the talk.After I got the keys, he even used his truck to help me move some remaining items. Chris was particularly helpful in ushering me through the maze of getting me qualified and buying a home. It was during a time post-housing crisis when lenders were particularly cautious. There were many, many hoops to jump through and Chris was there to guide me with a loan I could afford for house that I wanted. It was not easy and it did not happen overnight. But it was one of the best purchases of my lifetime. It was no longer giving my money away to the landlord and to the IRS. I was accumulating wealth, at least as much wealth as middle income person can accumulate. Chris honest and will not get you into a loan that you cannot afford that becomes an anchor around your neck. He is there to help you buy a home. So me and the wife are old and own our home and decided to take some equity out of it.
